After a long legal battle, McDonald's lost a trademark dispute over the name of its famous burger.

An Irish fast food rival that sells chicken sandwiches is called Super Mac.

And Mickey D's objected when Super Mac wanted to expand into other European countries, claiming consumers would be confused over the similarity in the names.

But a few days ago, a judge sided with Supermac saying the US giant failed to prove it was using the Big Mac label

over a five-year period for poultry products. The Big Mac, made with two beef paddies and other toppings was invented in 1968 by a franchise
