And we begin with stunning news from the Animal Kingdom.

Researchers have found that when the African Savannah elephant makes a low purring sound, known as rumble,

it is actually addressing friends or family by name. The scientists were able to isolate distinct calls and when they play them back,

elephants who heard their unique label would pick up their heads and respond,

whereas they would listen but not respond if they weren't the intended recipient.

Naturalist Joyce Pool told CBS News,

the implications are huge.

Because if the elephants have nicknames for each other,

they might also have labels for places and actions.

The upshot, humans are not alone in developing language.
