This is Handel on the Law, Marginal Legal Advice, and this is where I tell you you have absolutely no case.

Now, let me tell you a little bit about California, California birth certificates.

As you probably know, the biggest single population we have here in California are Latinos.

And we have a mishmash of other ethnicities. I mean, we are truly the melting pot, probably of the United States.

More people here from name the country than any place else.

So you look at your birth certificate for those of you who I'm about to describe, and for those of you that would probably, yeah, that makes sense.

You'll notice that people when they sign their name will have, or when they print their name, will have various accent marks in their name.

The enia, the accent mark afterwards, my name, by the way,

Handel is a German name.

And in the original spelling, if you look at my birth certificate,

there is what's called an umlau, or umlach over my,

the handle, the H part, and that's two dots.

That is an accent mark. Handle is the way by name is

pronounced if you look at my driver's license no chance if you look at the way i sign my name or you

look at my uh well i don't know about birth certificate i've seen it for a while but certainly my

naturalization papers when i was naturalized became a naturalized American citizen when I was 11. It's just handled, H-A-N-D-E-L.

So there's a new law that has been introduced. California Assembly Bill 77 would allow all of those accent marks on birth certificates.

And why now are they introducing Assembly Bill 77? Well, because in 1986, we, the citizens and the

voters of California passed.

Proposition 63, making English the official state language.

And you know what?

Doesn't exist in English?
