Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Kim. Today is Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025. And we begin

with the Sahara about to pay a visit to Florida. A giant plume of wind-wipped desert dust,

the size of the continental United States is

currently marching from North Africa across the Atlantic Ocean to the U.S.

Right now it's hovering over the Caribbean.

And after a few days of gritty skies there, it'll bring a reddish haze all across the Gulf

states, including Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana,

and East Texas. The weather phenomenon happens just about every year, and according to the New York

Times is apparently good news for those worried about early season hurricanes because the

dry air and strong winds that lift and push the desert dust also help keep

tropical systems from forming. Mother Nature is fascinating. Dr. Jason Dunyon told the times,

it set up the Saharan dust factory right next to the hurricane nursery.

He's only 14, but saving lives, one ticker at a time.

High schooler, Sadarth Nandiala of Texas, has developed an app to detect heart issues early

before they have a chance to cause problems.

So far, he's diagnosed more than 40 patients in India, and it only took seven seconds each time.
