Good morning and welcome the kid news. I'm Tori today Today is Thursday, May 30th, 2019. And we begin with the man in charge of the Russian

meddling investigation making his first public comments in more than two years. Special

Council Robert Mueller has stayed out of the spotlight

even as the White House and Congress battle politically over the meaning of his report.

In yesterday's surprise appearance, Mueller recapped his conclusion that Russia most definitely

tried to interfere in the 2016 election, something he said deserves the attention of every

American, and then reiterated that his report did not clear President Trump of wrongdoing.

Reaction to his comments were as expected.

Most Republicans see it as case closed, while many Democrats are pushing for impeachment.

For his part Mr Mueller says he's done all the talking he intends to do and is

looking forward to the next item in his agenda, retirement.
