Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Kim. Today is Thursday, May 21st, 2026. And we begin with with shaping up to be another record

shattering holiday as millions of Americans hit the road to kick off the unofficial start of summer.

Beginning today, AAA projects 45 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles over the Memorial

Day weekend, with 39.1 million going by car, and 3.6 million

expected to fly to their destinations. That's a bit higher than last year, despite much higher

gas prices. Average airline prices are actually a little lower for those who booked in advance.

AAA says this year's three most popular Memorial Day vacation spots are Orlando, Florida,

Seattle, Washington, and New York, New York.

A Georgia man has come up with a unique solution to combat those high gas prices.
