And we begin with 50 million Americans waking up to another round of severe spring weather.

This morning, throughout much of the southern plains and Midwest, forecasters are predicting

baseball-sized hail, fierce winds, and flash flooding.

Last night the dire warnings of weather watchers came true.

Fourteen tornadoes touched down in Central Oklahoma and Western Texas.

Two of them were described as large and extremely dangerous.

Schools in the area shut down yesterday when the threat level hit five out of five

and may remain closed today.

The storm system has been tormenting the region since the weekend.

More than 60 tornadoes have been reported in seven states in just the past three days.

For good reason, it's illegal to use your phone while driving.

Soon it may also be illegal to use it while walking.

A bill sponsored by Democrats in the New York State Legislature

would allow police to issue a ticket of between 25 and $50 for a first offense of getting caught texting while crossing

the street unless you can prove it was an emergency.

A couple cities in Hawaii and California have such laws on the books while Connecticut and New Jersey

are considering similar bills. But some politicians are highly skeptical saying

this is an example of government overreach. At this point it's unclear if the bill in New York will

become law before the legislative session ends in mid-June. A German company is

working on making flying taxis a reality.
