Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Tuesday, October 9th, 2018. It is also the Feast Day of St. Dennis.

This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are talking about the nature of Jesus Christ.

Yesterday, we reminded ourselves that Jesus is super important to our faith. In fact,

without Jesus, we would have nothing because he sits at the absolute center of everything.

And so with this in mind, we are extra motivated to get to know Jesus better.

Today we are going to talk about how Jesus was fully God.

Tomorrow we are going to be talking about how he was not only fully God, but also fully man. But today, Jesus was fully God. Now, this seems kind of crazy,

right? He had the power of God, the God of the universe, who created everything, everything,

who knows everything. He was fully God. Of course, we believe in

the Trinity. We believe in one God, but that God has three parts. God the Father, God the Son,

who is Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit. God, the son, existed at the beginning of time.

He existed with the Father. He was there at creation. And yet he entered history at a certain moment,

fully God, but also fully man. Now, how in the world did God enter human history as a man?

Well, that's a mystery. We don't have a good answer for that, but we do have a name for it. That is called

the incarnation. Yes, Jesus existed before time began, but at one moment in a stable

in Bethlehem, he took on a human body and he started at the very beginning. God, who is all powerful,

who knows all and created all, decided to enter human history,

not as a warrior, not as a conqueror, but as a tiny, helpless baby. And he wasn't born in a palace surrounded by servants. He wasn't even born in a hospital. He wasn't born in a palace surrounded by servants.

He was born in a barn.

His parents were not welcomed in the inn in the town that they were in because it was full.
