Hey Sprouts. Today is Monday, October 1st, and it is also the feast day of St. Teres.

This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are going to be talking about what is probably one of the hardest

concepts in our Catholic faith. Trust.

Now, why is trust so hard? Well, there's lots of different reasons for this, but one of the

main reasons is because trust requires us to let go of control and allow God to do with us as he wills.

Trust means saying to God, I not only believe in you, but I place all my talents, all my time,

all my thoughts, all that I own into your hands so that you might use it for your will.

Now this is a big promise. It's not only a promise that we have to take seriously, but it's also a

promise that we have to make every single day of our lives. But luckily, we are not on this quest alone. We have many

great examples to teach us how to trust. One of the greatest among those is St. Chorès.

Now, I know if you were listening back in August that we've already spent quite a bit of time talking

about St. Cherez and her little way. If you remember, St. Cherez was a French nun. She was the

youngest in a family of girls. She lost her mother when she was very young, and she also joined

a convent to become a Carmelite nun when she was also pretty young.

And then she didn't even live that long. She died when she was in her 20s.

But we know she went to heaven because of all the miracles that St. Cherez was a part of after her death.

Now here's something you might not know about St. Cherez.

St. Chorz is the patron saint of missionaries.

Do you know what a missionary is?

A missionary is someone that goes to another part of the world, crosses an ocean that goes to people that have never heard of Jesus, and they spread the good news of the gospel to them.

Now, why in the world would a little French nun who never left the convent after she entered it, why would she be the patroness of missionaries?
