This is Handel on the Law, marginal legal advice, where I tell you you have no case, hopefully.

Ah, lawsuits. As you know, I've been a lawyer for a very, very long time. And not a very good one, I might add.

But at the same time, I really pay attention to lawsuits because I sort of roll that way.

And for some reason, well,

actually, for a good reason, we in the United States do like crazy. And that means that anybody can file a lawsuit. And there really isn't very much consequence to it. You file a crazy-ass lawsuit and

you hire lawyer who says you really don't have anything there or there's too much work involved or the lawyer finds out you're basically crazy and there's this major fact that you left out and everybody just goes away.

You dismiss and you walk away and there's no consequence.

Other countries plenty of consequence by not only filing a lawsuit, but if you lose

or walk away, you get nailed with the consequences, financial consequences, but not here. So here's a

good one. All right, a bunch of prisoners in New York, and they're at a state corrections prison.

Of course they are.

And what happened during the last solar eclipse, boy, did we make a big deal about the solar eclipse?

And it was totality, which means it was completely dark where the moon covered up the sun 100%.

And it's all exciting.

Everybody has to look with the glasses, et cetera.

So what happened in upstate New York at the Woodburn Correctional Facility

is that the administration shut down the prison during the eclipse.

Just shut it down.

No one's walking outside to look at the eclipse.

Well, of course, lawsuit ensued, and a lawsuit is filed in federal court in upstate New York,

arguing that the lockdown of the prison violates the inmates' constitutional rights to practice their faiths

by preventing them from taking part in a religiously significant event.
