I'm Tori. It's Tuesday, April 20, 2021, and we begin with one of the best soccer players in the world

kicking in a lot of money to help kids. Specifically, Lionel Messi, a forward and the FC Barcelona team,

is auctioning off the cleats he wore in the match when he beat Pele's record of most goals for a single team.

According to the BBC, the money that's raised from that sale will go to a children's hospital in Barcelona, Spain.

Messi wore these Adidas cleats when he kicked his 644th goal for his club on December 22, last year.

The boots were also signed by the 33-year-old athlete, and were originally given to a museum in the city,

but now will be sold to help out a good cause, and they're expected to raise about $100,000.

It turns out you can teach an old dog new tricks. That was the case for a border collie in England who had been trained to help her owner herd sheep.

But when the eight-year-old dog Peggy lost her hearing and could no longer follow voice commands, her owner had to give her up.

Fortunately, Peggy was adopted by another couple, and after careful training, she learned to understand sign language.

Thumbs up, for example, means good girl. The collie now goes out in the fields hurting flocks of sheep with two other dogs.

In fact, Peggy runs around so much, the owners have a GPS tracker on her collar so they can find her if she gets lost,

since she can't hear them if they call or whistle for her.

But they say she's doing great, learning new things, and improving all the time.

In other kid news notes, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's leading infectious disease expert,

says he expects a decision on the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine by Friday.

Distribution of J&J was halted last week, so federal health agencies could investigate whether this vaccine

was linked to a rare blood clotting disorder.

Alaska is one of many places really hoping for a boost in tourism this summer after a year of no traveling.

To give the effort a shot in the arm, the state's governor just announced COVID vaccines will be available at key airports in the state,

starting June 1st.
