As you probably know, I live in the county of Los Angeles.

And Los Angeles, I mean, first of all, California is, as you know, the most liberal

state in the United States. Los Angeles being probably the second most liberal area in California,

with the Bay Area, San Francisco area, being the most liberal to the point of just craziness.

We're pretty crazy down here also relative to the Bay Area. And we have a board of supervisors, L.A. County Board of Supervisors,

probably the most powerful elected body in the country where you have a city council.

I think we have 23 members of the city council in the city of Los Angeles with the mayor.

L.A. County, which has a budget bigger than most states, has just five supervisors.

And it's a multi-billion dollar county.

And all the laws in the county are controlled by these five supervisors one of the most liberal supervisor is a woman by the name of hilda solis who is

considered pretty pretty left wing out there.

So at the Supervisors meeting, this was last week,

Solis introduced a proposal to, and I'm going to quote now,

depopulate and decarcerate L.A. County jails. Now, I know what depopulation means. I know what

incarceration means, but I think this is a new word, decarcerate L.A. County jails. And we don't know how far this actually went. Was it to simply release all the prisoners

and county facilities? I have no idea. Reduce the prisoners. Again, I have no idea. Now, to Hilda Solis's argument, to bolster her argument, L.A. County has been under consent degrees, decrees with the courts and has had real problems with how inmates are treated with mental health issues and abuse from guards and crowding. I mean, there's been a lot of issues.
