Remember the Kate Steinle case?

This was the young woman who was on San Francisco Pier back in 2015 and an illegal alien shot her.

And the illegal alien was supposed to be deported and wasn't.

And of course, the argument for deporting illegal aliens and not letting them out of jail got a lot of activity because of that.

They got a lot of ammunition, so to speak.

So there was a lawsuit, and here's the problem,

is that a federal law enforcement officer left the gun in a car that was open.

In his car, it was unlocked, and the gun was right there on the seat.

And someone picked it up.

And somehow this illegal alien got hold of that gun.

And now the family is suing, you know, obviously someone who's destitute you're not going to get any money from, but they're suing the feds saying it was the negligence of that police officer, that law enforcement official, that led to the shooting of their daughter.

And the court just threw the lawsuit out against the feds.

And here is why.

The gun was stolen three and a half days earlier from the SUV of the Ranger.

The judge ruled that the theft of that gun was too far removed from the shooting in time, which the time and distance and other circumstances,

and this is a quote, for the government to be held liable for causing the shooting.

And that was the problem with the lawsuit.

You have intervening acts, and there wasn't enough connection.

I mean, that's the bottom line.
