good morning and welcome to kid news I'm Tori. Today is Monday, March 18, 2019. And we begin with a blind runner and three dogs making history at the New York City half marathon.

Labrador's Waffle, Wesley, and Gus took turns pacing Thomas Panic along the 13.1 mile

course yesterday. Together they made up the race's first ever blind runner seeing

eye dog team.

Panic is the CEO of Guiding Eyes for the Blind,

a nonprofit that matches canines with the sight impaired

for everyday help.

A few years ago, the avid runner up the ante and started training

the pooc to not just walk but run with the blind. He says running with human guides is nice

but the independence of running with a dog or team of dogs is even better.

Panic finished the race in just under two and a half hours.
