Story out of Missouri.

And this is statutory.

Missouri judges cannot legally finalize a divorce if a woman is pregnant.

I mean, that kind of sounds crazy, doesn't it? Three other states

have laws just like that, Texas, Arizona, Arkansas. Now, a woman in Missouri can file for divorce,

but to finalize the divorce, the court has to wait until after a woman gives birth, and that's as to child custody, child support.

When it comes to domestic violence, there are no exceptions. I mean, they just let that happen.

So there is a representative, a Democrat, Representative Ashley Aoun or A-An-N- or A-N-I-N-I-N-I, or un no idea how it's pronounced a un he and

she introduced a bill this legislative session that um well it basically says pregnancy can't

prevent a judge from finalizing a divorce or separation so why are these crazy laws in place? Well, she agreed that the law

is made with good intention. That happens all the time. Legislation, I was involved in writing

legislation in the world of surrogacy, and it took a few years, a couple of years to actually write it.

What you do is spend more time talking about the consequences, the unintended consequences

of whatever bill is passed.

And here we are, a law is made with good intentions, making sure kids are taken care of.

That's, and by the way, those are the laws regarding paternity, for example.

The society wants fathers, mothers to take care of their children.

So they pass laws that on their face seem a little unfair,

but the ultimate goal is we want to take care of kids.
