And I want to talk to you for this podcast episode

about trees.

Not all about trees, but kind of maybe some of the biggest mistakes we make around

caring for our trees and some of the things that we should probably know more about.

So that's the focus today and I am bringing in our guest expert

Jamie Blackburn. Jamie is a certified arborist and he's the senior consulting

arborist at Arbor Guard they're in Atlanta-based tree care company, but he

too shares the same passion for trees and for horticulture that I do. I think we have a lot

in common there, and he's got the pedigree for it too. He started off working in the nursery business nearly 25 years ago.

Loved it so much he wanted to advance his career.

So he went to work at the Scott Arboretum at Swarthmore College, and then he got his

Masters in Horticulture from Cornell University, one of the great Horticulture schools in America.

And from there he went down south to Miami and worked for a

period of time at Fairchild Tropical Garden a really beautiful place down in

South Florida and then had an opportunity a window opened up where he landed in Atlanta about 13 years ago as curator of the woodland gardens at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, which is a beautiful place. They have a tree canopy that takes you about

50 feet above grade through the canopy of some of Atlanta's great hardwood
