2020 and we begin with an overnight flight home from the International

Space Station and a new record for NASA.

Just a few hours ago, astronaut Christina Koch made a fiery reentry into Earth's atmosphere

at a speed of 5 miles per second and temperatures reaching 2,000 degrees.

By the time she touched down in Kazakhstan, near Russia, she'd spent 328 straight days in orbit, making hers the longest single spaceflight by any woman ever.

During her time on the space station, she took part in the first all-woman space walk and circled the Earth more than 5,200 times, a journey of around

140 million miles.

The impeachment stands adjourned.

With those words, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts brought an end to the historic trial of President Trump.

As expected, senators voted to acquit or clear Mr. Trump of wrongdoing largely along party lines.

The one exception, Utah Senator Mitt Romney, who split from his fellow Republicans and

voted to convict on the first article

Abuse of Power. In a speech on the Senate floor Mr. Romney said he could now tell

his kids he did what he thought was his duty even if his decision was unpopular with his party.

The impeachment trial was only the third in US history and the third to end in an acquittal.

Tuesday night during the annual State of the Union address the nation's two most powerful

politicians showed a shocking and very public lack of civility.

Before his speech began, President Trump appeared to ignore House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as she offered to

shake his hand.

The Democrat responded by dropping the words, high privilege and distinct honor from the

traditional introduction of the president.
