It's a long interview, which is fantastic, so I will keep my segment shorter today.

Before we get into that interview with Shane, I want to talk to you about something that I've struggled with for a long time.

It's accepting your current situation. This podcast has no ties or

affiliation with Alcoholics Anonymous or any other 12-step program. However, there is

this book, it's big, and it's blue.

Some people, including myself, refer to it as the big book.

There's a page 417.

On that page is a paragraph that is very dear to me. Instead of summarizing it, I'm just going to read it.

And it's in the chapter, Acceptance was the answer.

And Acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed it is because I find some

person-placed thing or situation, some fact in my life unacceptable to me and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place or thing or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at that moment.

Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in God's world by mistake.
