It's back to a question about Browder from Jay Marion.

Al, does Browder need to know the playbook for some jump balls in the residence? I say, can you just tell them, hey, young fella, just go runoff fade. That's something you probably don't need to read the book for Rorto. Yeah, no, that's a good point. Yeah, sometimes just put them in there. Hey, go get it. Make it happen, Captain. You know what I mean?

So, no, not necessarily.

But if you want to use him more than that, yeah, he does.

Damien H says, how does Michigan start to improve on vertically passing downfield to open up the underneath plays and run game more

so they aren't as predictable offensively.

Yeah, well, you got to throw them, you know, and they did.

He called a couple of four vertical type routes in the game, but the protection broke down.

That's how you do it.

You're not afraid to take the ball down the field, whether it be within side verticals,

outside verticals, which does tend to open up underneath.

I mean, one thing about throwing the ball vertical and whether it's outside or inside

is you've got to talk yourself into the call knowing that it's not always going to be a high

percentage situation, but the residual effects of it can help other pass plays because you can't throw every ball within five, 10 yards, a line of scrimmage because they're going to sit on your cuts, particularly in these quarters coverage with a key in a quarterback and jumping throws. And it's happened in this game a time or two. And so you've got to be able to try and run by him even if you don't hit the pass.

Right.

But you've got to be able to protect so you can get it down there.

Quarterback is at the mercy, the protection, the receivers are at the mercy of the quarterback.

And the protection, too, for that matter.
