Cheryl and Aaron. Today we're going to talk about advice, a situation that I've been in many times where people give me advice and it's not something that I asked for and it gets really annoying, gets under my skin.

So I wanted to know, has somebody else, have you guys guys experienced this have you been a situation where you're at a dinner with with friends and there's always that one person in the group who's always trying to tell everybody how to solve all their problems

and you're wondering like what is it about your life that you've got it all worked out that you can

be sitting here and giving advice on every topic from planting vegetables to building a nuclear bomb.

What is it about those people?

How do I feel about that?

How do you feel about it?

That's what we're going to talk about today, so stick around. The Greek philosopher Tallis, and I hope I said that correctly, who predates Socrates,

when asked, what is the most difficult thing to do in life.

His response was to know yourself. And conversely, what's the easiest thing in life?

And that is to give advice. And that's the subject of our podcast today.

And first I'm going to open it up with my friends and cohorts here in the room

is why do you think people give advice?

We all have friends that unprompted will come over and start giving you

opinions and advice on anything from how to build a nuclear bomb to what you should wear,

etc, etc. Why do you think people do that?

To demonstrate their expertise

to establish themselves as an authority.
