And in this episode, episode two, we're talking about the new JNC8 guidelines on the treatment of hypertension.

Funny thing you say, Dr. Kane, JNC8, I would like to call it quote unquote JNC8

because everybody who is in support of JNC7 guidelines are not supporting

JNC8 guidelines.

So Dr. Patel are you hinting at the fact that these are not fully endorsed guidelines

by all major organizations that treat hypertension?

That is pretty much true.

Yeah, it's got quite an interesting history it does as far as the time it's taken to kind of compile these.

I know it's, I've been hearing personally about these guidelines for years and years, but it's seen that it hit a couple snags along the way.

So what caused it to take so long to be released or updated from JNC7?

So you will know as we discuss differences between JNC7 and JNC8 that JNC is is based mainly

on the systemic review of randomized controlled trials only.
