today we're talking about the new lipid guidelines that were released by the ACC and AHA in 2013,

and we're going to talk about how they impact clinical practice. So we were long due for these

guidelines. We had ATP three guidelines published in 2001, and

also the same organization then came up with an update in 2004. So between 2004 and 2013,

there are a lot of good studies that came about that needed to be summarized and put into

practice. So this is what the ACCAHA 2013 guidelines are doing.
