nerd film guy here so just bear with me so in the 1960 New Wave Classic, Breathless, the character played by Jean-Paul Belmondo uses a pseudonym of

Las Lhaslow Kovacs. Now, it turns out later we would get a great cinematographer named

Laslow Kovacs and I always figured oh this is G'dard being like doing a little

shout-outs to his film friends but no I was wrong. Lazzo Kovacs wasn't famous yet he was just getting his

career started in 1960 the reason that Belmondo's character uses the pseudonym

Lazzo Kovacs in that movie is because he had been in another film,

the year previous, for Claude Chabral,

playing a character named LASLASLO Kovacs.

So it is a movie inside joke,

but it's not the movie inside joke

that I thought it was.
