Well, this message is not based on just one text, so some may call this topical.

That's not my normal practice, but for this, I'll hope you will forgive me.

It's always been hard to be a godly man and that's because men have always faced sin and temptation.

That's always been the case, but one difference is that in the past you could be a sinner and you could still be manly or

masculine to some extent.

But today Western society opposes masculinity, even in its godliest form, its best form.

This is because of feminism and the Iranian broader philosophy known as egalitarianism.

And it's true that because of these things many people actually hate men.

They hate manhood.

So we see this from radical feminists, which includes some leftist single women, but it also includes many employers

and government officials.

They want passivity and compliance as they ram their new

ideologies down our throats. They don't like people standing up for principles and they don't like resistance.

So they oppose masculine men.

Well this of course is spilled over. masculine men.

Well, this of course is spilled over even into the church. Many churches cater to women,

whether it's in their worship songs or sermons that are crowded out by stories rather

than the Bible.

These churches tend to be soft on truth.

And they tolerate cultural sins at its expense. And if men stand up too much, then they call them unloving or unpasteoral or something like that.

So we know it's hard to be a man today.

It's especially hard to be a godly man.
