This is a special episode. It not only marks our

4,000th regular episode, but it also is the beginning of our second

time through the Bob Bailey era on Your Truly Johnny Dollar. And I guess on Valentine's Day,

it's appropriate that Bob Bailey had played George Valentine. And that gave him a lot of experience as the lead on a detective program. He'd spent around six or seven years. It's a bit unclear as to when he left let George Do It as the star of a detective series.

But if I were to speculate why he ended up getting the role over, say, Gerald Moore,

it most likely be because Let George Do It wasn't really well known outside of the Western United States.
