Hello, good morning and welcome back or welcome to Morning Ray. I'm your host, Lan, or Alana,

0:09.0

and this is our winter reset episode for December, January, February, March, all the winter months

0:16.9

that are coming. We are approaching winter season. Ironically, I'm hopping off on a plane

0:23.7

to go to somewhere very warm to Cape Town, where it's summer right now. So this will be kind of

0:30.9

on a pause while I'm away for the next month, which is pretty crazy. I was packing today. And, you know, I counted how many days I needed

0:41.1

my vitamins and minerals and whatever for 24. 24 days. I think this is my longest trip yet,

0:50.2

minus a trip I went on in grade 10. That was a month long. But this is like my longest trip as an

0:56.5

adult, which is really exciting. But nonetheless, I'm really excited to get into this episode.

1:02.5

We're going to be discussing mindsets, routines, winter essentials, and all of the things. I love

1:09.3

doing these episodes. You guys seem to love them because my seasonal

1:12.9

resets are my most listened to episodes outside of my annual series of finishing off the year

1:22.2

and setting up for the new year, which will be out in two weeks, which is super exciting.

1:27.4

It's a three-part series.

1:29.1

I'm excited for you guys to tune in and listen. But let's get into my mindsets. My mindsets

1:36.0

going into winter and things that I am focusing on thinking about how I want to perceive

1:42.7

things, how I want to react to things, how I want to move,

1:46.1

how I want to grow. And I think sometimes I can be a little bit impatient and especially in

1:55.2

this culture where we can get a lot of things quite instantaneously and we forget about the art of putting in the work day by day and things having to take time in order for them to grow and to blossom and to become what we want them to become.

2:10.9

So with that being said, I'm bringing in the mindset, slowing down to speed up.

2:16.4

And it sounds counterintuitive. It sounds counterproductive.

2:20.1

But it is honestly something we used to say a lot when I worked in store at Lou Lemon.

2:24.4

My floor lead and my ASM, like my assistant store manager, Raquel, would always say this.
