Corum Deo. It means unto God. It's a Latin phrase. You probably don't hear it very often in modern life, but it's a very important term. It signals that we live all our lives unto God. This is what the

Corom Deo is a term that you hear sometimes in theological circles and not much beyond them,

but it's a very important one, I think, for understanding a right Christian theology of normal ordinary life.

Here's what I'm working against in introducing this little Latin phrase, quorum deo, unto God.

I'm working against the idea that I think sometimes functionally spreads in Christian circles, often unintentionally.

The idea is this.

If you're in full-time vocational ministry, Your life and your daily work matter to God.

You do the important stuff.

And if you're not in full-time vocational ministry, all those hours you spend, maybe there's

a little bit of God's glory in them, but by and large, they don't really count.

I think there's a lot of Christians out there.

There's a fair number of sheep who get discouraged in their everyday life for exactly that

reason, because they don't sense, and they may not be taught in some cases or may not

hear this emphasized from the pulpit, that their life is a quorum

day of life, that every minute they live is unto God, with no exception. I don't mean that

every minute of our day we're perfect before God, offering perfect worship. No, there are plenty of

moments in our weeks where we're not honoring the Lord and we have to repent of that

and confess that to God and to man as occasion allows. However, I am talking about in general our

vocation, our service to God, the work of our hands, our career, our calling, whatever term you want

to use, what I want to say to you is that I believe that the Bible gives you an enchanted
