that saying in all seriousness? Everybody wants to save the world, but nobody wants to do the

dirty work. Isn't that true of how life shapes out? Isn't that true of how our hearts are

drawn? Don't we want all of us at some level to see everything made right?

When we see something terrible happen, do you ever feel that instinct rising in you to make things right,

to strike back at the darkness? And that's not necessarily a bad instinct. In many respects,

that's a good instinct to have that response to evil or struggling or suffering in the world.

But here's the reality.

All of us have to grapple on a day-to-day basis with this simple fact.

We are not God.

God alone is God.

That is, as I say, a simple affirmation and basic truth, but it is actually an explosive one.

And it is a truth, it's called the creator-creature distinction in theological circles,

that should shape everyday life, that should help us make sense of our lives,

that should fire our approach

to how we as a Christian live in a fallen world. In today's episode, I want to return to a

passage that we have covered a few times on my podcasts, both the earlier iteration of my podcast, The Antithesis, and now this iteration,

this later iteration, Grace and Truth with Salem, when I did a podcast on this particular

passage, when it was called, when this podcast was called the Antithesis, this was just about

the biggest episode I ever did, besides a few on lockdowns and some of those

related matters. And the passage is going to be known to some of you, even as I'm saying this,
