Welcome to episode 2,9006 of your daily guided meditation. I welcome you to day four. We continue along with our Quest meditation series and you are leaving a legacy this week.

0:23.3

I'm so curious as to what kind of legacy you have selected for yourself.

0:30.3

And remember, a legacy does not have to be something big or profound.

0:37.3

Leaving a legacy can be as simple as improving some aspect of your life

0:44.2

or the lives of others. When I think of some of the important people in my own life who have

0:52.5

passed on and the legacy they left, I think of my

0:57.7

grandparents and I think about how, in particular, my maternal grandparents who I got to know

1:06.8

really well, they lived very near my home when I was growing up and they always had a beautiful

1:18.1

home and garden in fact my grandmother would enter her flowers in the county fair and very often she would win and my grandfather worked for most

1:31.7

of his career selling Danish furniture so their home was very modern and very beautiful my grandmother

1:43.4

loved crafts and of course their garden and my grandfather

1:48.5

built their very first home by hand without any power tools. Now many of your grandparents

1:57.3

or great grandparents are likely to have done the same.

2:01.8

It was a time when people did build their own homes themselves and of course with the help

2:09.1

of neighbors.

2:11.6

So this is a legacy that they left and I don't think they realized they were leaving a legacy. They

2:18.7

were simply living their lives the best way they could and also enriching and beautifying

2:26.8

their lives and that is the legacy that they imparted to my whole family. So when I think of a legacy that I believe I may be leaving,

2:39.0

I would say that it's similar because I enjoy creating special spaces in my home

2:48.0

that my family and I enjoy. And I also always have some kind of herb garden or vegetable garden,

2:56.7

and I grow flowers and lots of different things.

3:00.9

And so their legacy has spilled over into my life,
