Now, Jonah's calling was to be a prophet.

He is a prophet who speaks on behalf of God.

When you are in your calling, it's a lot easier to hear God's voice.

Because you're where you're supposed to be.

So when God speaks you're in the neighborhood of what God wants to say.

You're in the vicinity to hear it.

Well, his general calling is a prophet is clear.

But he's now been given a specific task.

Verse 2 says, and it's to go to men about a cry against it.

For its wickedness has come up from me.
