Today's episode is a message that Jonathan recently shared in Dubai

on knowing and living from your new name.

We read a scripture from Matthew 3, 13 through 17.

And it's the moment of Jesus getting the smile.

He has this moment at 12 years old where he he's in his father's house and he knows he's a son and he knows who his father is

And then from 12 to about 30, 18 years, we don't know anything.

My wife, Melissa, likes to say that she believes Jesus waited 30 years because he wanted to enjoy

what he was going to die for. He wanted to fully enjoy being human. fully understand everything he was going to die for.

18 years growing in wisdom, growing in favor, possibly even bearing his father Joseph,

because historians say because Joseph never shows back up anywhere else.

He was probably an older man that married Mary and he possibly even buried his father.

Can you imagine? Sharing, he has empathy for everything that we go

through. He's a high priest that understands it all. Living in the tension of Rome, living in the tension of Rome, living in the tension of all these things.

And at 30, he shows up at the Jordan waters, no miracles, no signs, no wonders yet.

30 years of ordinary simple life, a carpenter working with his hands.

And here he is, standing in line to be baptized by his cousin.

Probably one of my favorite moments in Jesus life and it says then Jesus

came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John said to him I need to be baptized by John. But John said to him, I need to be baptized by you and

you're coming to me. Jesus says let it be so it's proper for us to do this to

fulfill all righteousness.
