And this week's guest who is right here with us is Tom Harris.

And Tom is an artist, a social justice activist, and an author, most recently of Your Neighbor Kills Puppies inside the Animal Liberation

Movement, which is such a great title and such a great book, and it's about his work in helping

to coordinate Stop Huntington Animal Cruelty, which is an iconic, legendary animal liberation

campaign that resulted in his and others prosecution

and really persecution by the British and U.S. governments and his serving five years in prison.

So Tom, first of all, welcome to Our Henhouse and thank you so much for being here with us.

Yeah, same. I mean, Marianne and I are pretty old school. We've been involved for a really long time.

We're pretty old, so we actually remember Shaq.

Yes. Yes. And I think a lot of our listeners, well, there's certainly seasoned activists, but there are also a lot of newer people for whom this will be new information, at least somewhat. So I'm looking forward to that. And we generally start off by talking about some stuff that's new for us or in the news, and then we get down to business. So before we

discuss the book and all the rest, let's talk about just shit that's been going down in the last

you are even a little surprised by how much I love it. Well, I can never tell with you because

you are an enthusiastic person. But I wrote about if people want to check it out, it's always

It's about motivated ignorance, which is kind of a concept I've been hearing about in the news a lot, especially about Trump. Well, Tom, you're not here, but, you know, I imagine you know what's going on at least a bit. Because it's insane. I mean, people just, all these people are going to vote for

Trump in spite of like, you know, everything, the insurrection, the fact that he's got dementia,

like it's unbelievable. Yeah. But it also made me start thinking about motivated ignorance being a big
