Summary

In this episode of Build Your Tribe Chalene invites her Son Brock Johnson on the show. Brock is a collegiate athlete, motivational speaker and in the past two years he has become a focused and dedicated entrepreneur. You will get to hear Brock's perspective as a new part time entrepreneur and how his mindset shifted. Chalene and Brock thought it would be helpful for the two of them to give you both their perspectives on being a seasoned entrepreneur and a new solo entrepreneur. Brock tells you how and why he made his first hire even with the fear that his business was not making a lot of money. Just to be clear Brock did not receive or rely on his parents to finance his business he did this all on his own. Brock realized that even though he was not rolling in money yet he had to take a chance and he knew the more you delegate and the more help you bring on the more your business will grow and the more freedom and flexibility you will have. 0:04.8	And today we are talking about what higher you need to make first or maybe next.
0:10.4	Welcome to Build Your Tribe with your host Shaline Johnson.
0:14.8	So today I'm here with my son Brock Johnson, who also happens to be,
0:18.9	I guess he could say a new entrepreneur, newer.
0:21.6	Relatively new.
0:22.7	Would you say probably two years?
0:24.1	I'd say two years as a focused, dedicated entrepreneur.
0:27.6	I like to use the word focused and even dedicated because that doesn't necessarily mean that it was full time.
0:34.2	But I do think there's a point at which as someone who's just making passive income,
0:39.6	you flip a switch and you decide, okay, I'm not just dabbling with making extra income.
0:43.9	I want to be an entrepreneur.
0:44.9	I want to be a business owner.
0:46.1	I really consider myself becoming an entrepreneur once my mindset shifted.
0:50.4	Once I started considering myself, you know, an entrepreneur.
0:53.6	Or maybe once I put it in my Instagram bio, then I was an entrepreneur and I started believing that I was.
0:58.9	That was when I kind of started taking more seriously.
1:01.2	And so rather than just saying, you know, when I started doing it full time,
1:03.8	or when I started spending X amount of hours, it's just the mindset shifted.
1:08.0	And so I'd say that was about two years ago.
