For the next few moments, we look to God's Word to discover simple Bible principles that will help us to live the daily Christian life and to enjoy the journey.

As many of you know, I spend a great deal of time with young people. I love teenagers and trying to encourage young men and women to find God's best for their life. One of the things

that has troubled me so much and frankly has led me to do this

study with you this week on what God has to say about alcohol is seeing so many young people

getting off course on this matter. Did you know that one fifth of eighth graders report having

been drunk at least once? They tell me that one out of two eighth graders has at

least tried alcohol. Think about that. Three out of four students have consumed

alcohol by the end of high school. Four out of five college students drink. Half

of them are heavy drinkers. They tell me that one half of young people who begin

drinking before the age of 14 later become

alcohol dependent. This is an issue that we need to get settled, not only for us but for the

generation following us. This is something that we've got to develop some personal conviction

about and then pass on to our children and to our grandchildren. We've talked about the deception

of alcohol. We've looked at the destruction of it and a description of it. We look most recently

at the distraction that alcohol brings, but I want to talk to you on this final day together

about the decision you have to make about alcohol. You see, every person is going to have to decide for themselves.

There's an amazing verse in 1 Corinthians chapter 10, verse 31.

It says, whether therefore you eat or drink or whatsoever you do,

do all to the glory of God.

And I say to you that everything in our life, if you're truly a Christian, should be done to glorify Jesus Christ.

And there's some things you can't drink and glorify God.
