I just wanted to thank you for the Pierre Navelli episode, as it was vital to me in explaining

how I felt to my mum, who didn't understand why I wanted to be assessed and just kept saying

that I was always a good, happy child. Classic mum. I asked her to listen to the episode before

she had to speak to the assessors, and it helped her understand why it was so important for me.

Although I didn't get the answers I was hoping for, the conversations that have been available

for me, especially this episode with Pierre, have really helped me understand myself and what I

need to feel safe and calm. It also helped the relationship with my mum, who went from being

quite hostile about it, to finding all

the potential autistic traits my dad has and enabling us to talk freely about it. It also helped

that John has talked about displaying similar traits to me as his methods for coping that don't

have a medical definition, so I can find a way to be outside of the ASD world.
