| 0:07.0 | Scraming low Hey friends, welcome back to Truth Talks for Tara, where we are all about knowing what God's |
| 0:32.2 | word says, but not just that, but loving it and in turn living it. So what does it actually |
| 0:36.6 | look like to live out what God says in our day-to-day lives, whether that's in our marriages, our relationships, our motherhood, and in today's context, in our bodies, in our wellness, in our health, even in our diets. And we're not going to shy away. It's actually kind of funny. The day that we're recording this, I got an Instagram Q&A, like someone asked like, what do you think about body image and body standards and all this kind of stuff? I'm like, well, come back to the podcast in October when this launches because I'm talking with the one, the only Jordan Lee Dooley. Jordan, thank you so much for being here. Before we start, would you give a little intro to |
| 1:11.2 | who you are, what you do, and then one little fun thing you're loving or that's like bringing |
| 1:16.3 | joy to your life lately? Yes, I love that question. Hi, I'm Jordan. Thank you for having me, |
| 1:22.2 | Tara. It's so fun to be here. I write and I speak and I share fun finds and things on the internet. I talk a lot about faith and |
| 1:29.9 | health and motherhood. And I just have a huge passion for helping women be good to their bodies, |
| 1:34.8 | which I know we're going to talk about. But I feel like society puts so much pressure on us |
| 1:39.0 | to be perfect to our bodies or sometimes it can be really tempting to just like neglect |
| 1:42.8 | our bodies altogether when they're rebelling against us or when they're frustrating us. And so anyways, that's just a huge topic I share quite a bit about and I've shared a lot about for the last five or six years as I've walked through my own journey. And so I'm sure we can jump into that more. But in terms of what was the other question, something I'm finding fun lately? Yeah, like something you're loving, whether it's something you bought or something you've done, like literally anything. Good question. You know, I'm really loving. So we have a little neighborhood pool. This is, I know we're recording this in the summer, probably by the time this air is this is going to be irrelevant because we'll be into the fall. But we have a little neighborhood pool. And my sons just recently took swim lessons. And they've just really, like, loved the water recently. They're two years old. |
| 2:20.2 | And so a lot of after my husband and I wrap up work or wrap up our days, we get to take them over to the pool. And we just loved playing this little kitty pool with them, the little like dive toys. It's only a foot deep, but they just have so much fun with it. And it's like, I think it's fun for me because it's such a small thing, but I'm like, |
| 2:33.9 | this is literally like, like these are the days. |
| 2:36.3 | This is something I've dreamed |
| 2:37.2 | and prayed for for so long. And it's just like a simple, like half hour family activity. And I've been loving it. So that's what's been fun for me in recent days. This is so fun. I also love that it's like you're like you know it's like low key i feel like sometimes yeah like summer |
| 2:50.6 | outings with kids can be super overwhelming and you're like, you know, it's like low key. I feel like sometimes, like summer audience with kids can be super overwhelming. And you're like, hey, like maybe toss a few some diapers and a few snacks and let's just go for a little bit. Like, I don't know, like I always get a little bit in my head about like, oh, there's like a lot to plan or to take and it can be hard to even do it, but I love that you're like, just do it, you know? And even having been pregnant this summer, I have said no to a lot of other, like, |
| 3:10.9 | activities that I otherwise would have been like, yeah, let's go to the splash pad and let's go to the zoo and let's do all the things. But I'm like, you know what? We're just going to keep it simple. We're going to have dad's help and we're going to walk across the street and playing a little kitty pool for a half hour. So super random. There's probably a ton of other things I could have said, |
| 3:25.4 | but that's the first thing that came to mind because it's like top of mind for me. No, that's so good. My three-year-old has been a little bit more interested in swimming lately. And I'm actually really excited about that because I think the first time we went to Hawaii with my family for the first time when he was like eight or nine months. And he was fine, right? Because, like, he's so little. And then we went to Hawaii with my family for the first time when he was like eight or nine months and he like was fine right because like he's so little and then we went to Hawaii the next year when he was a little bit older and he was like kind of freaked out by it all of a sudden yeah yeah yeah yeah I mean it kind of got used to it because we were in the pool every day but then like kind of got a little fearful but this year, he's kind of come out of a shell. |
| 3:58.4 | Like, I don't know. |
