Summary

Writer Lauren Ashley Smith joins Best Gabe Ever to give advice even though she’s been married for ten years. A man insists on telling his friend that she’s not in the same league as the men she wants. Can you date someone you’re not attracted to right away? Was it rude for a wife to tell her husband he’s too broke to be sexist? Gabe’s new experiences as a man in the eyes of women. An HOA story about revenge! A woman wants to tell her BFF her baby name is horrendous.

I'm your host Gabe Dunn and with me today we have Lauren Ashley Smith.

0:10.0

Do you want to tell my audience who you are and what you do?

0:13.0

Yes, my name is Lauren. I am a writer of TV and and film.

0:19.0

I do comedy exclusively. I also host a radio show that is on every day on

0:25.0

Sirius XM, Channel 102, called Some Sisters Live. It's a pop culture radio show. And we do a

0:30.9

monthly version of it as a podcast that people can get that's not behind a paywall. But yeah, so I'm a talker and a rider. How is it doing something

0:40.3

daily? It is at times, you know, it's so interesting because I don't feel like how like

0:48.7

mentally challenging it is until I take a break. So like over the holidays, we were off for two

0:53.5

weeks. And the like third day

0:55.8

I woke up where I didn't have to like turn something in or like, you know, have something that was

1:01.1

happening like right then. I was like, oh, wow. I was like, is this what light feels like when you don't

1:06.7

have like one to get up at 5.30 in the morning because they're live at 6 a.m. Oh my God.

1:11.5

And two, you know, have to have prepared all this stuff or whatever. And I was like, oh, wow,

1:17.5

I didn't realize how much energy I was like expending to do it. But it is fun because especially for

1:23.2

me as someone who works in television and film where things take years and years and years,

1:27.3

it is nice to see something have a thought or an opinion or something I want to discuss

1:32.5

and be able to do it immediately as opposed to in half a decade.

1:38.5

Yeah.

1:39.4

Yeah.

1:40.1

That's also like one of the things that I liked about writing books was like, okay, at least we know this will be coming out.

1:46.6

Yes.
