Summary

We are seeing parental rights being infringed upon now more than ever and it's concerning, to say the least. Parents know their children better than anyone and should have the right to make the decisions they think are best. Today I am talking with Michael Ramey, the Executive Director of parentalrights.org. We are discussing the current threats to parental rights and how you can not only be aware but also become involved in helping defend the rights of every parent, homeschoolers or not! Hey everyone. Welcome to this week's podcast. I'm so glad that you all have decided to join me as we talk about knowing your parental rights. Now, if you're a new listener,

0:22.9

I just want to thank you for being here and give a little bit of an introduction of myself,

0:27.6

if you don't know me. I'm married to Daryl. We've married for 30 years. We have eight kids.

0:33.3

They are ages 15 to 28. We have six grandkids, and we've been homeschooling for about 24 years.

0:41.8

Now, if you're listening and can take a couple of minutes and leave a review from wherever

0:47.7

whatever platform you're listening from, I would really appreciate that. How the platforms work is that

0:53.4

they carry the podcast. The platforms they carry the podcast, the platforms

0:56.7

that carry the podcast will show it to more moms as you leave reviews. And my main goal is to get

1:02.4

as much encouragement to as many moms as possible. Also, if you're heading to any homeschool

1:08.5

conferences over the next several months,

1:15.6

check out the link that I'm going to leave in the podcast notes to the places that I will be speaking. I would absolutely love to meet you and hug your neck.

1:20.9

Lastly, I'm going to be part of an online conference in February featuring a lineup of top speakers,

1:30.5

including Kirk Cameron, Heidi St. John,

1:36.2

Sam Sorbos, and Todd Wilson, just to name a few. So I'm going to leave a link in the podcast notes so you can go check that out because sometimes we can't make it to a live conference, but an online

1:41.5

conference works fantastically. So I have been incredibly excited

1:46.2

about this episode. I was actually awake during the night, praying over it some more. But a few

1:52.3

weeks ago, I was praying about what topics to address in the new year and parental rights

1:57.3

immediately came to my mind. And, you know, we often found, we find a lot of people

2:03.3

crying foul and claiming that their rights are being violated and they're offended about everything

2:07.7

and essentially kind of see themselves as victims. This is not what today's podcast is about.

2:15.3

Parents, God has appointed us to be the main caretakers of our children, and we are

2:21.7

ultimately responsible for God for our children. Now, the culture has worked and is working hard
