There's something I do that I probably shouldn't do.

Maybe it's something you do as well.

I suspect it's something a lot of people do, and this is what it is.

I see an article online with a headline that's like,

this year is the hottest year in world history,

or huge glacier that's been frozen forever has now melted,

or more natural disasters than ever expected,

as climate change proves worse than anyone ever feared. Headlines like that. And the thing

I do that I probably shouldn't do is that I keep on moving. I don't click. I don't take on

the full weight of knowledge and my responsibilities as an earthling.

And I should, but I don't.

And the reason for that is this.

I feel my anxiety levels rising just from the headlines, my depression levels rising,

everything going up, just like the sea levels are going up. And of course,

avoiding clicking on that article and reading that article, that doesn't really work because

I've seen the headlines already by that point. I know the essential facts. The cat is out

of the bag and it's scratching at my brain. But I try to protect my

mental health. And I can't. It's depression mode. I'm John Moe. I'm glad you might be in the same boat as me.
