Yes, welcome back everybody to YouTube and News the podcast. My name is Benedict Townsend. It's wonderful to be back here with you for yet another week of this glorious awards nominated podcast.

And we're here and we've got YouTube stories and we've even got a freaking guest this week.

That's right. We're starting up guest season. Tis the season by bringing in someone who was

much requested. I actually popped on Twitter the other day and I said to everyone, hey, who would

you like to see on the YouTube news podcast? And people said, oh, my cat's here. People said, oh, you know, Tom Hanks and

all these people, but a name that kept cropping up was Cat Warner, my fellow presenter on Pop Buzz,

with whom I have made a lot of very fun, silly videos over on Pop Buzz Beauty and on the Pop Buzz Guide.

And I thought to myself, why have I never had Cat on the YouTube news podcast?? She's a great laugh and she knows a thing or two about YouTube, I hope.

So stick around to the end of the show to hear my chat with Kat. It was brilliant or it was

terrible. I don't know. I haven't actually recorded it yet, but I'm just going to assume it was

fantastic and life changing. So definitely stick around for that. But before we get into

all that fun, we have to start the show the way we always do by looking back at what happened

on this day in YouTube history. So today, of course, is the 15th of November, 2019. That's right,

it's 2019. You just woke up. None of that stuff even happened.

Hey, you know all that stressful stuff? It didn't even happen. It's November 2019. Everything's fine,

relatively speaking. I mean, there's quite a lot of problems, but, you know, in terms of everything

that happens later, everything's fine. You've got

no problems at all. Just kidding, it's 2021 and everything sucks. But on this day, many interesting

things happened throughout YouTube history. Let's run them down. On the 15th of November, 1896,

John Charles Yu and Simon Tube got together to found the California
