This is the Salaback Church podcast.

Today we are in the third week of a message series called Be A Light, and we've been looking at the reality that Jesus, when he came from heaven to earth, he came to bring light. He came to bring hope to our lives. And for those of us who are his followers, he invites us to bring his

light to the rest of the world, that everyone can know that God loves them and wants them to have a

relationship with him. Now, in the first week, we talked about prayer and the power of prayer

that God uses his power through our lives as we connect to him through prayer.

We talked about praying for five specific people, and I think a lot of us have made that decision. I have my little card in my pocket. I've been praying for people that God would use

me to bring his message, to invite people to Christmas services. Last week, Pastor Tom did a great

job talking about serving and how serving can be a light.

And today we're going to finish the whole series talking about how we can speak the love of

Jesus and shine his light through our words.

And I want to begin with just a little bit of a journey.

But I want to start with this question.

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt

like you had nothing to offer in terms of words? Like you're in a room, somebody else is talking,

you don't really have much to say. And this has happened to me a few times before. So Stacy and I,

we met when we were freshman in college. She was 17 years old. I was 18 years old. And I remember when she

started taking me home around her parents to meet the parents. And so we went to her family's house.

I will say her dad is a little bit of an intimidating guy, or at least he was when I was growing up.

He had pastored a church, a large church. He had been there for a long period of time,

and he would sit at the head of the table and tell all kinds of awesome stories. So we went to her

house, we're eating a meal together, like all these traditions that I didn't know about. My family
