0:24.6	The Luftwaffe have been bombing London every night for over a month.
0:28.9	The sound of anti-aircraft fire echoes above the rooftops.
0:33.3	Fires glow on the horizon through the blackout curtains.
0:36.0	The Prime Minister has resumed his dinner.
0:40.2	Conversation moves quietly among his aides. the clink of silver against porcelain, the distant crump of bombs falling on the east end. Then without warning,
0:48.0	Churchill sets down his fork. He rises from the table. His aides fall silent. The Prime Minister walks across the dining room
0:56.6	through the doorway and into the kitchen at the rear of the building. Three kitchen staff look up
1:02.5	from their work, a cook, a scullery made, a kitchen assistant. All three have worked at number 10 for
1:08.0	years. He says, put the dinner in the hot plate in the dining room,
1:13.5	then go to the air raid shelter in the basement. All three of you now. No further explanation.
1:21.4	Three minutes later, a German bomb strikes the rear of the building. The kitchen is destroyed.

1:29.3	and the back wall collapsed the garden in a single conclusive moment. The three staff members
