This is a Salaback Church podcast.

Now today as we start this brand new series, it's a big moment for us as a church.

This series is going to be a great amount of encouragement, a dose of hope into our lives,

and the title of the series is called, You Can we say that together?

You can do this.

Now that phrase when you hear it in your mind, it should encourage you, but it also comes

with a counter narrative that often is in our minds and it's the phrase you can't do it.

That many times in our minds we hear this little voice that tell us you cannot do

the thing that you want to do, whether it's change. Perhaps there's an area of your life that you want

to be different. That voice is there. Maybe from time to time when you get a desire or a dream

for your marriage to change or your relationship with your parents or your relationship with your

kids or your studies at school parents or your relationship with your kids

or your studies at school, you want it to be different and that voice of you, you can't do it.

But God speaks a better word over your life, that with his help, you can do it.

Now, that narrative is not just coming from the inside, it's also coming from a battle spiritually.

The enemy wants to speak

that over your life, that lie, that you're stuck, that you can't change. And culture often is also

warring against God's voice in our life. I read a book a couple years ago called The Coddling

of the American Mind, and it's a fascinating book. So these authors who are psychologists,

the professors in Ivy League schools, and they started to notice a trend over years.

They noticed that increasingly students who were coming through their classrooms were emotionally

fragile. So that meant that like if there's something on campus that they didn't agree with,
