Good morning my friends welcome back it is time for the morning mindset for you

and for me to get our minds aligned with the truth of God my name is Carrie Green

if you're new to the morning mindset. I welcome you.

I'm glad that you're taking the time to get yourself ready for the day. We are

looking at the book of First Peter. We're in First Peter Chapter 2. Today will begin with

first number 11. And one of the things I've noticed about Peter over the years

and that's quite remarkable actually is that Peter was a rough and

tough kind of blue-collar guy he was a fisherman and yet after Christ took hold of him, his personality seemed to change a bit.

He seemed to soften.

He seemed to become this very emotionally driven guy in the sense of the relationships that he had in his life.

Look at verse 11, it begins with the word beloved.

That's kind of hard for me sometimes to imagine an old salt of the earth kind of a guy using the word beloved

But Christ had come in and had loved him extremely well and so he knew what it was to be loved and what it was to love others and so he

says beloved I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh which wage war against your soul.

Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable so that when they speak against you as

evil-doers they may see your good deeds and glorified

God on the day of visitation.

There's so much here we may spend a few days on this.

First off, let's look at the way that Peter describes those he's writing to.

That's really you and me now.

He says, I urge you as sojourners and exiles. Well those two terms are not things that we use in our

day and age very often. Let's unpack each of them. So Journer is a person who is kind of a stranger to the land
