Summary

Galatians 2: 20-21 - I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness[c] were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.

0:55.1

for a moment and let's think about the way that we typically live our lives. We wake up every day, we eat breakfast, we brush our teeth, we get

1:07.2

dressed, we go about the responsibilities that we have for the day.

1:13.0

And we often do that kind of on autopilot.

1:16.4

We just get up and we click right back into a normal routine.

1:21.3

And we do all of that based on an ingrained set of beliefs about who we are.

1:29.6

You see we think of ourselves in terms of I am a father, I am a brother, I am a husband, I am a

1:37.1

worker, I am a lawyer, I am a teacher, I am a you know fill in the blank, you have all your own blanks to fill in you see and

1:46.4

that is how we identify ourselves and it's out of that identity that we live. You see because with our identity comes certain

1:56.2

expectations. You see if we had the identity of the president of our country or the prime minister of the country we live in.

2:06.0

Our expectation of what we are to do and how we are to act and the kinds of impact we can have on people in situations is a lot different

2:16.7

than if we believe our identity is you know a child in a family who is not loved and abused and you see the difference that I'm trying to to describe here

2:30.5

the same sort of difference happens in our lives as we live as believers in Jesus Christ.
