Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive in to Moses, chapter 1, verse 6.

When Joseph Smith sat down to translate the Old Testament, he opened to Genesis 1 verse 1, likely anticipating

that the Lord would inspire him to change a few words here and there. He couldn't have known

that the Lord was about to reveal what was missing before Genesis 1. Over 12,000 words

of Scripture, now known as the Book of Moses. These words of Moses recount a time

after God had called him to free the Israelites, but before Moses went to Egypt. While Moses was

at the top of a mountain, he met face to face with God. During what must have been a stressful

time for Moses, you know, going back to Egypt where he was on the most wanted list,

God spent time talking with Moses to help him see the bigger picture. And best of all, he gave

Moses a nickname. Quote, and I have a work for thee, Moses, my son. Don't you love that? God

referred to Moses as his son, not just a son. After showing Moses the grandeur

of his power, God reminded him, hey, you're mine, you're my son. That meant that Moses could

face down an angry Pharaoh and free a million slaves and in fact do anything else that God

asked. And the same thing is true about you. You are God's son or daughter with absolutely

infinite potential. No problem is too big for you to handle because you are partnered with the

creator of the world and he claims you as his. So the takeaway of the day in five words or less is

you are his.
