Welcome to One Minute Scripter Study, a Come Follow Me podcast.

0:05.0

We are your host, Kristen Walker-Smith and Callie Black.

0:09.7

Hello and welcome to Big Picture Monday.

0:11.6

My name is Callie Black here with all the context you need to totally rock this week's

0:15.1

Come Follow Me readings.

0:16.5

This week is January 5th through the 11th, and we are studying Moses chapter 1 and Abraham

0:23.2

Chapter 3. Welcome to the Old Testament. Last week, we had our intro week, but this week

0:30.4

we are going to dive into the scriptures by reading two books that aren't even in the Bible,

0:36.8

which I just think that's funny. Don't worry. It

0:40.1

makes total sense, and I'll explain why it makes sense, but I just think there's a little bit

0:44.4

0:57.3

plenty of time studying this year. Moses and Abraham, the people who wrote these books.

1:04.6

Why these two specific chapters, though, Moses and Abraham both had divine experiences that revealed a lot about

1:16.6

who God the Father really is, who Jehovah is, Jehovah meaning Jesus Christ, and who we are,

1:25.5

our own divine identity.

1:33.2

And so I think, like, what better way to start our study this year of these ancient texts in the Old Testament than with a doctrinal reminder from God through Moses and Abraham

1:41.5

about what really matters in the big picture. When I say these chapters are

1:47.3

packed with doctrine, I mean it quite literally. And I also mean it in the best way possible. Like,

1:54.2

it is just good, pure doctrine for each of us to be reminded of as we start the Old Testament year.

2:02.1

I love it so much.

2:03.8

Now, if you're like, how do these chapters fit into the story of the Old Testament?
