Summary

In this episode, we’re catching up on… us. Jason is out of retirement, teaching live classes at an exclusive spot in Carlsbad, Andrea shares how strength training and high-protein eating (like, super high-protein) has helped her get out of chronic knee and foot pain in post-menopause. We also talk shoulder rehab, why teachers don’t need to “do it all” in class, and what’s currently entertaining us (books, TV, and yes—Dancing With the Stars).

I got to say, I'm just going to go right in here and say, I'm loving the quarter zip.

0:20.6

I'm going into the quarter zip hard, but I want to, here's the thing.

0:23.8

Okay, listen, there are a lot of things about me that are becoming more middle age white guy.

0:32.0

Yeah.

0:32.5

Like it's really coming out.

0:34.0

Big time.

But the thing is you, the quarter zip for you is more of like athletic wear. I'm coming to your aid here. No, no, no. I'm going to come to my own. I appreciate that. Yeah. And I'm going to come to my own aid and say, but I do my best to keep a little edge. All the quarter zips that I have are Fred Perry quarterships. You're still a hot guy. Thank you. But the reason I brought up the quarter zip is because there is a pretty funny. It's a very funny, like meme going around. I feel like I'm so in the know that I know this, but I'm not even in the no because I don't know the origin of it. But I'll just explain the one, the first one that I saw was a video of a

Latino guy in his car and he's like got a backwards baseball hat and a t-shirt on and a cop pulls him over and he's like, oh God, where's my quartership? I got my quarters of it. And he reaches in the back seat. And then when the next you see, the cop is standing at the window and he looks over and he's got his baseball hat off, his hair's all combed, he's got his quarters upon,

and he's got his baseball hat off,

1:28.2

his hair's all combed, he's got his quarters of on and he's holding a macha. Yeah, he's called the matcha. And so the cop's like really nice to him. And he's like, oh, yes, officer. This has got the new Starbucks with the 20 grams of protein. And I laughed so hard at that because Sophia has been making it so much fun

1:46.2

of me about how much protein I'm eating, which is an insane amount of it. You're in the protein

1:49.9

phase. I'm in the protein phase. And so when Starbucks started the protein drinks, she was like,

1:55.4

oh, my, you got it like making fun of me. So anyway, I showed her that video and she's like, do you know about the quarters

2:02.2

at matcha? And I said, well, I mean, I'm getting it from this video. And then suddenly the next day,

2:07.7

I'm getting all these funny videos of guys, usually like men of color, like black men or Latino men.

2:14.3

And they're suddenly they put on a quarter sip and they're drinking matcha and they're talking like old white guys. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I mean, I tell you what, I'm doing my best to just kind of keep it a little, you know, a little fresh. Yeah. Quarterships, they're only Fred Perry's. All right. And then all of my polos are Fred Perrys. Yeah.

2:34.3

And I love a polo.

2:35.5

You've always been a Fred Perry guy too.
