Summary

I was riding my Harley-Davidson Road King a few days ago when my mind suddenly thought - “The Chinese Philosophical concept of Yin and yang describes how opposite or contrary forces may be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world.” What? What? Huh? It happened right in front of the Daytona Speedway and got me thinking about advice I give my clients about slowing down. It goes like this - “You must slow down to get what you want.” Advice like that is why I get the big bucks for what I do. No, not really. I get paid because nobody believes me, and it’s up to me to prove it. Let’s go riding. Whenever I’m cruising on my motorcycle, I love fast and loud, and it makes me smile. That’s the Yin of riding a bike, but you can only go fast and loud for so long before the light turns red in front of you or blue behind you.  Occasionally the place you were speeding toward gets congested, and you have no choice but to slow down. But when you are a high-performance machine designed to go fast, slowing down can be challenging - especially on an 800 pound Harley.  That’s where the Zin of riding a motorcycle comes into play. Slowing down is the opposite of fast, yet it can yield the same result - if you know what you are doing. Whether it’s your life or a motorcycle, success requires precision control. If you get it right and trust yourself and your machine, you will continue to make progress.  On a motorcycle… 1) Slow down but keep moving. Never stop. 2) Rev your engine so that you always have power to your wheels. 3) Since the motorcycle wants to go faster, pull the clutch into the friction zone between nothing and everything while putting your foot on the rear brake. What? Slow down? Rev your engine? Hit the brakes? Yes. That combination virtually assures that you keep moving forward in any situation, in full control, until it’s time to open it up again. That same thing happens in life. You can’t run full out all the time, and sometimes you need to a complete stop. For everything else in between, you keep moving forward - no matter how slow you go. how are you? Happy, happy, happy, happy, happy Wednesday. You know, Wednesday, I'm always asking a very simple question.

0:22.0

What can I do? So today, if you're, say, say, say your boss or your wife or your husband or somebody says, Hey, what are you going to do about it? And you don't know. Just thinking you're a brain. What can I do? Imagine, just like that. You're going to have an answer. You may not like it, but you're going to, you know, sometimes the best things in life start by not liking them. Don't they? All right. That's a quote. It is a daily boost from motivation mood.com. The positive boost you need every single day and the practical boost as well.

Well, I was born with an extra dose, I think of, well, certainly the gift of God, but certainly have that ever since I was born. So my mom used to say, me, Scott, you can talk your way into anything. But you know what's even more powerful. I can talk my way out of almost everything. It's awesome. A little common sense along the way with a name like Scott Smith got to have it, common name, uncommon sense, laying in on you today. That's what I do. So I'm glad to have you here today. What do you do, by the way? I don't know you. I'd like to know what you do. I'd like to know who you are. And like they've had a few people calling me and contacting me and just saying hello.

1:22.0

It happens a lot this time of year. Random emails, random phone calls, a lot of text messages, people just saying, hi, introducing them as well. People that, by the way, I have literally been with me for. We started this podcast in 2006 and I have people here from 2006. God help them. Patient, incredible people. Okay. I've got stuff to do today. Let's get to it here. Okay. I, I surprised my wife a little bit. A couple of weeks back.

1:52.0

And she should not have been surprised because I moved into new house and a few years back, we lived in a farm. I had a dirt road. And I couldn't keep my Harley Davidson and just I was cleaning it more than writing it. So I said, let's go ahead and get rid of that. And then I started looking at motorcycles again. And then the started YouTube being and then bike toberfrest came to Orlando and Daytona. I was looking. She should have known. And I ended up at the brand new Harley road king a few days ago.

2:21.8

So I was writing it down the road, feeling bad as we do on motorcycles. Yes, they were helmet.

2:30.0

And I had this thought just as going down the road. This is very, this is a very motorcycle ish kind of, you know,

2:38.0

It's a thought you would have at a motorcycle. I said, the Chinese philosophical concept of Yunnan Yang describes how opposite and country forces may be complimentary intricate and interdependent in a natural world.

2:48.8

I was just out there in the wind.

2:51.8

Out of good time. The Chinese philosophical concept of Yunnan Yang.

2:56.8

It describes how opposite and contrary forces may be complimentary.

3:03.8

Interconnected seriously and interdependent to in a natural world. Oh, my God.

3:08.8

All see what motorcycle writing does. Huh, what? Huh, what?

3:14.8

By the way, it happened directly in front of the Daytona International Speedway, which is just down the road for me just to, as they say in the country, a piece.

3:28.8

Pass that 11, lemonade stand or Mrs. Whatever it am. No, it didn't deal with this whole country song.

3:35.8

It got me thinking about that advice that I get my clients all the time, but slowing down.

3:40.8

Because that's what I do. I always tell my clients to slow down. I tens of thousands of hours working with clients these days. Most of them high performance type of individuals who've hit a speed bump or just want to get ready to do. They're like me get the speed bumps out of the damn way.

3:53.8

And they come to me and we work with things and eventually I have one rule by the way. If I'm working with a client, almost all my clients are business clients now.

4:01.8

And so when I work with them, I have one rule. I got to make a money. If I make a money, I make money. It's cool stuff.

4:06.8

And I know to make a money, I got to slow them down before they can make the big money. So I do that. I said, you must slow down to get what you want. Huh, I don't want to slow down. Everybody says, got to light your hair on fire. Go fast. That's how you do it. Money, success, love, speed. You got to go. Got to go. Got to go. Yeah, you do.

4:19.8

There you do. But the reason that they're paying me the big bucks.

4:27.8

Well, not really what sometimes they do is not because I tell them what to do.
