On Wednesday, the 5th of November, the Prime Minister was away at the climate change conference in Brazil.

So there were stand-ins for both him and Kemi Badernock at question time.

The Conservatives had been keeping quiet about who would stand in for Kemi Badernock at question time.

Some of the big names of the opposition, like Sir Mel Stride, where they're on the front bench,

though there was no sign of the shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick,

the once and maybe future leadership contender. But it turned out

that the substitute was instead. Secretary of State for Defence, James Cuthbertage. James

Cartledge got up to upbraid the Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, who's also the Justice

Secretary. Overnight, the father of the girl assaulted in Epping by Hadish Kabatou,

the illegal immigrant, released by accident,

said the government had failed them relentlessly.

Now, I confess, I'm surprised the Deputy Prime Minister hasn't already apologised.

David Lamy said it was great to see James Cartlidge there,

though he observed innocently that he'd expected to see Robert Jenrick.

As for apologising...

He must have missed the debate, because in the debate, of course I said sorry

for the anxiety cause whilst Kibati was at large, and I repeat that.

And he added that it was important that the inquiry under Dame Lynn Owens got to the bottom of what had happened.

But James Cartledge had another question.
